KY Master Naturalist Volunteer Program

2024 MN Training

2024 MN Training

Thank you for your interest in being a part of the spring 2024 KY Master Naturalist (KYMN) training cohort! The mission of the KYMN program is to develop a cohort of well-informed volunteers to advance education, research, and outreach efforts dedicated to the conservation and management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

This training will provide you with 16 classes (offered over Zoom) and 1 field training (8 hours, your choice of one of three days being offered this spring).  If you complete these, along with 40 hours of volunteer work (which you complete independently during 2024), you will become a certified KY Master Naturalist.  To maintain this certification you will need to complete 8 continuing education hours and 40 volunteer hours (both self-reported) annually. More information on the Master Naturalist Program can be found on this website.

A little more information on what is expected in this training:

  • Participation in 16 Zoom training sessions (2 hours each, Friday mornings 10-12 ET viewed “live”, or completed by watching recordings at a later time)
  • Completion of a short quiz after each class to receive credit for attendance
  • Attendance at a field training (dates TBD)
  • Cost $150 (scholarships available)

This cohort number will be limited. To help us understand if this is a good fit for you, please complete this application.
